The current Sewerage & Water Board billing crisis, drainage neglect, and overall lack of transparency are all preventable issues that are a result of mismanagement by the current four governing bodies: the mayor led board, the state governance, the city council, and the highly paid executives team that follows the orders of the first three.
Since these bodies have had decades to figure it out, and have not been able to do so in the interest of New Orleans’ residents, we as residents must take matters into our own hands. We must fight for unfettered access to a fully functional, fully funded and resourced publicly community controlled water, drainage and sewerage system.
